STT Türk Gazbeton(AAC) and Fire Safety
STT Türk Gazbeton is the safest solution for fire safety in residential, high-rise, public industrial, tourism and cultural buildings with its heat resistance. Smoke and toxic gas emission is one of the most important issues in fire-resistant building design. The use of fire-sensitive materials in buildings poses a great danger. Warrington Fire Test Report
In the test conducted by Warrington Fire Laboratories, an international certification and test center operating in England, a wall with a thickness of 20 cm built with AAC was left under fire effect for 240 minutes. AAC resisted the fire for 240 minutes without damage.
With its thermal insulation and lightness feature, STT Türk Gazbeton, which is in the class of “A1 class non-combustible” material resistant to 1200°C, is an indispensable option in building fire-safe structures, “fire wall” and “fire safety hall” solutions and is also used safely in high-rise buildings.
AAC and the Regulation on Fire Protection of Buildings
According to Article Appendix2/C of the Regulation on Fire Protection of Buildings, AAC is;
- Accepted as A1 class without the need for testing.
- No fire resistance test report is required for building materials in A1 class.
Fire Safety of Insulation Materials and Setapor Thermal Insulation Board
Setapor Thermal Insulation Board used for the insulation of Columns, Beams, Reinforced Concrete and Buildings is in the A1 Class Non-Combustible group like AAC products as stated in the Appendix/2C and Appendix/2C tables of the Fire Regulation. The circular of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization dated 16.07.2014 and numbered 2014/17 refers to the obligation to form the exterior facades of high-rise buildings (more than 7 floors / higher than 21.50 m) with at least “hard-to-burn” materials. Based on this article, Setapor Thermal Insulation Board used for the insulation of Columns, Beams, Reinforced Concrete and Buildings is the most ideal insulation solution.
